Sister of Murdered Teen Joins Police Force That Caught His Killers
The sister of Anthony Walker, who was brutally murdered in a racist attack, has joined the police force that caught her brother’s killers.
26-year-old Dominique Walker has been sworn in as a police constable with Merseyside Police in Liverpool almost seven years after Michael Barton, half-brother of QPR footballer Joey, and his cousin Paul Taylor killed Anthony with an ice-axe.
Anthony Walker was murdered in 2005
The 18-year-old was walking across a park with his white girlfriend Louise Thompson and his cousin Marcus Binns when he was murdered in 2005. Speaking about her decision to join the force Dominique said
I want to do some good for society. If I can bear witness to Anthony’s life by wearing this uniform and doing this job, it means he did not die in vain.
Dominique’s ambition is to become Britain’s first black female chief constable.
