After 50 years on the picture tube the James Bond franchise was able to clench the top spot with just 2 percent above the Star Wars. James Bond garnered 18 percent to clench the first position from closest rival, Star Wars. The movie adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s literary genius, The Lord of the Rings trilogy came third. Although Harry Potter is the highest gross franchise of all time, the six Harry potter movies could not secure the franchise a top three.
